Sandbach Child Photographer – Rufus – my personal model

Whilst setting up for another shoot at the weekend I thought, what better opportunity to shoot some photos of my gorgeous little man for his first birthday! I’m determined to do a paint splash with him too when I get the chance!

This time last year I was approaching my due date and wondering nervously what nature had in store. Little did I know what would happen! After another almost 3 weeks of waiting I was induced at Leighton Hospital and endured an eventful labour which ended in an emergency c-section.

Rufus is my absolute world. He is a funny, charismatic little chap who charms everyone he meets. He’s well used to the camera now and poses every time it’s out.

We found out in October that Rufus has Achondroplasia which is the most common form of dwarfism. Basically he’s going to be Mummy’s gorgeous little man forever! As Nana says, ‘He’s going to have a very tall Mummy!’. So far, he’s been very healthy but achondroplasia comes with health concerns that must be monitored. One of the reasons why I’m keen to push my photography career further is because it will hopefully give me the freedom and flexibility that I need to dedicate time to my little man.

I can’t believe he turns one in a couple of weeks!

Cake Smash

Cheshire Cake Smash and Paint Splash Photographer – George's Paint Splash!

George was one of my first models here at Little Primrose Photography, about a year ago. At just a few months old he stole the show back then. Now, at over 1 year old, he’s still brilliant in front of the camera!

To celebrate his first birthday, George came to our studio to have a Paint Splash! A creative alternative to the usual Cake Smash, for the more artistic individuals. A great idea for older children as well as babies.

Mum and Dad came too and gave me free reign over colour schemes so obviously rainbow colours was the way to go! We had a portrait session first with George dressed in his finest clothes; some pictures with Mum and Dad; the paint splash and finally (the bit George wasn’t so keen on!) a splash in the bath!

At our cosy home studio in Sandbach, Cheshire, George really made himself at home. The paint splash was actually much tidier than I imagined it would be: probably cleaner than a cake smash! He had a rainbow of colours to choose from and a selection of tools at his disposal. He really went to town painting the floor and himself! And Mum… and Dad… and my bunting…. hahaha.

George seemed very pleased with his final piece of art which Mum and Dad can keep (if they can find a wall big enough to put it on!). His family have got a collection of memories to treasure forever: a rainbow of photographs that match George’s colourful personality.

If you’d like to book a Paint Splash or Cake Smash to celebrate a birthday, whether it’s one, three or thirty! Please get in touch with Little Primrose Photography now. We are a baby and family photographers based in Sandbach but we cover most of the South Cheshire Area.

Sandbach Cake Smash Photographer – Sophie's cake smash and splash

Last Saturday I had the privilege of shooting a cake smash and splash with the stunning Sophie who was just brimming with character and charm which really shows through in her beautiful gallery of photographs!

Sophie’s mum wanted a classic style of cake smash based on the colour scheme pink and gold. We worked together to her specifications and I found some beautiful props, backdrops and a tutu. Sophie’s mum provided an outfit for her 1 year old little girl and she baked an amazing cake!!

Sophie absolutely loved her cake smash and splash at our home studio in Sandbach with Little Primrose Photography! She smiled the whole way through and went very very quiet when eating the cake… Although she was keen to share with Mum and Dad… and Me!

We began with some individual shots of Sophie in her birthday outfit and we also brought in Mum and Dad for a beautiful family portrait. We had a couple of outfit changes before introducing the cake. The star of the show had a couple of breaks for milk and water and refreshed herself before continuing with the shoot.

The cake smash was a total success, Sophie really enjoyed beating it with the wooden spoon and eating it before smearing it all over the place! However, it’s got to be said, her favourite part of the day was the lovely warm bath at the end! She splashed about for ages and even pulled herself up on the side which Mum and Dad said was the first time she’d ever done it! Captured on camera!

Review from Nicola Lambert on our Facebook page (Sophie’s mum): “I honestly cannot recommend Lisa enough! She is the friendliest lady that welcomes you into her home and instantly puts you at ease. My little girl took to her instantly too which shows in the stunning photo’s we got. Lisa has captured our cheeky little girl perfectly and we definitely have some beautiful pictures to treasure. I can’t fault the turn around time either as we had the pictures back the very next day! I can’t wait for the next occasion that requires photo’s.”
