10 week old baby portrait photography, Cheshire – Fliss and Seb

“And though she be but little, she is fierce.” – Shakespeare

Most photographers won’t photograph a baby between the age of 2 weeks and 6 months. We have a set regime of photo shoots – newborn, sitter and cake smash.

Sometimes, parents don’t want newborn photos of their baby, or nature takes its own course and families find those first few weeks with a baby really difficult and would wince at the idea of leaving the house to sit in a studio for a few hours while a stranger takes their baby.

Some families would rather have professional photos of their babies taken when they can smile and are approaching a giggle. These memories are just as precious as to Mum and Dad as those elusive first 14 days when babies curl up like they are still in the womb and sleep through the whole shoot.  This is the story of Fliss! Our beautiful 10 week old who visited the studio in Sandbach last Friday with her brother Seb for a portrait session.

Older babies can be so much fun! Fliss smiled the whole way through her session – until she fell asleep… haha.

Seb and Fliss were absolutely perfect models, we tried out a variety of props and got a bounty of smiles! Fliss is such an amazing, strong baby, she was awake and smiling for a long time! Her brother looked after her beautifully, constantly asking if she was ok and checking that she was enjoying herself.

We got some beautiful images that the family will enjoy forever. We’ve captured the first stages of Fliss’s legacy in our world!

Sandbach Newborn Photographer, Twins – Lyra and Elora

Hearts entwined
Twenty fingers, twenty toes,
two sweet babies with cheeks of rose.
Born on the same day, two gifts from above,
lives entwined, two babies to love.

My first set of twins, Lyra and Elora were absolutely amazing little beauties who seemed to really enjoy being popped into cosy baskets surrounded by natural materials and beautiful fresh flowers! It was absolutely fascinating to see how they liked to cling to each other. You could just see how cosy they must have been together in the womb and you can imagine what a close relationship they will have for the rest of their lives.

Last Monday, my assistant for the day: Natalie Webb and I, travelled to Middlewich to meet the stunning pair of twins Lyra and Elora, just a couple of weeks fresh into this world. They relished their moment in the spotlight and we tried out a variety of props and decorations to create a series of images that their parents and their whole family will cherish forever.

Every time I meet a newborn for a photo shoot I am always struck by how beautifully tiny the little details are. Their tiny hands, toes, eyelashes and beautiful pouty lips. These details are gone in an absolute flash and that’s what makes me so passionate about newborn photography. These are the images your grandchildren will be looking at, trying to spot their own little noses and eyes in the photographs!

If you would like to book a newborn shoot for a date this year, if you book during February you won’t pay a session fee, saving £50! Packages start from £175. (£25 deposit taken to secure your booking, this will be taken off final purchase).

Please contact use for more information.

Review from Lyra and Elora’s Mum:

“Fantastic. I contacted Lisa after a long debate on whether to have a photo shoot done for my twin daughters. Lisa put me at ease very quickly, and kept in touch whilst I was pregnant. When the twins were born, Lisa sorted everything, on the day her and her assistant arrived early set everything up and got on with it. Lisa was so very patient, and took very good care of them. the proof of her skills, hard work and patience is in the amazing photographs of our twins. Would definitely recommend and use in the future when all the girls are old enough. Thank you so much Lisa.” – Dawn Moody

Sandbach Cake Smash Photographer – Jacob!

Jacob came to the studio a couple of weeks ago for a cake smash and splash to celebrate his first birthday!

His parents, Vicki and Adam, wanted to go for a traditional style shoot with lovely shades of blue to bring out Jacob’s beautiful blue eyes. He was the first to try out my new nappy covers and matching accessories which looked fab on him!

We began with a traditional portrait session and Jacob was absolutely fantastic. As he was already 1 by this point, he was very mobile and loved moving round the set and trying to escape! Haha. Mum and Dad brought his gorgeous personalised rocking chair he got for his birthday so we took some lovely shots of him in that with his nice new boots on.

When we brought the cake out Jacob wasn’t very fussed. He picked at it a bit but was a bit put off by the mess. This can sometimes be the case with cake smashes but we always get a great collection of images regardless! Jacob made up for his lack of cake-mess enthusiasm when we got him in the bath tub. He splashed around in there for ages! He loved the ducks and was making funny faces at Mum and Dad the whole time.

As it had been snowing that morning, I thought it would be a lovely idea to get the family togged up in their woollies and out in a field for some family photos so as Jacob was still in a great mood at the end of the shoot we headed out to the field behind our home studio in Sandbach.

Overall it was a lovely shoot, I especially love the family portraits, they show such strong emotions that are clearly evident within this beautiful family.
