Older Baby Portrait Sessions
Beautiful studio portraits for babies from 6 weeks old, based in Sandbach, Cheshire.
You found me a bit late. Maybe your baby arrived early, or in a whirlwind, or you just weren’t sure whether newborn photography was for you until you looked at your baby one morning and thought, I need these days on the wall.
It happens all the time and it is absolutely not too late.
I photograph newborns up to 6 weeks old then after that they’re classed as an ‘older baby’. But rest assured, the results are every bit as beautiful as a traditional newborn session. Different, yes. The scrunchy curled poses of the very early days aren’t quite as achievable once babies start to unfurl and find their arms and legs, but what you get instead is something just as gorgeous. Those big dark eyes starting to focus. The hint of a social smile. A baby who’s really here, really present, and utterly beautiful.
My studio, my props, my handmade outfits, all of it is available to you exactly as it would be in a traditional newborn session. Nothing is off limits. We just work with where your baby is right now, and I promise you, where they are right now is wonderful.
Sessions start from £350.

Session Options
Two sessions, both completely personal to you. Both include a gallery slideshow viewing back at my studio after your shoot.
A £100 deposit secures your date, this comes off your session price on the day of your shoot.

Signature Older Baby Session — £350
Focused, personal and beautifully crafted
Up to an hour in the studio, with a plan built around your baby and what they can comfortably do right now. We’ll work try some wraps and props and if they’re feeling sociable, those gorgeous wide-awake portraits too.

Heirloom Older Baby Session — £650
Your baby, fully celebrated
Around two hours together with no rushing and no clock watching. We’ll cover individual portraits, family shots, siblings, and all those tiny details you’re desperate to hold onto. A long, unhurried morning that gives us room to do everything properly.

After your session
I’ll send a sneak peek on the day. Once editing is complete, you’ll come back to the studio for your gallery viewing, a slideshow of everything we created together. We’ll choose your favourites and talk through how you’d like to display them.
Will the images look as good as newborn photos?
Different, but absolutely yes. Older babies bring their own magic. The sleepy curled poses of the very early days give way to alert, expressive little faces and that is genuinely beautiful in its own right. I've had parents tell me they actually prefer their older baby images because you can really see their baby's personality coming through.
What can my baby do at this age?
At eight weeks, babies are still quite sleepy and we can achieve a lot of the traditional wrapping and posing. From eight to twelve weeks, babies are more awake and alert and we lean into that, working with their natural expressions and movements. I'll talk through what to expect for your baby's specific age when we chat.
Can we include family and siblings?
Absolutely. The Heirloom session has plenty of time for everyone. Even the Signature session can include a few family portraits if that's a priority for you, just mention it when you enquire.
How do I book?
Just get in touch via the contact page and let me know your baby's date of birth. I'll check availability and we'll get something in the diary as soon as possible. Don't sit on it though. These weeks go fast.
