Jacob came to the studio a couple of weeks ago for a cake smash and splash to celebrate his first birthday!
His parents, Vicki and Adam, wanted to go for a traditional style shoot with lovely shades of blue to bring out Jacob’s beautiful blue eyes. He was the first to try out my new nappy covers and matching accessories which looked fab on him!
We began with a traditional portrait session and Jacob was absolutely fantastic. As he was already 1 by this point, he was very mobile and loved moving round the set and trying to escape! Haha. Mum and Dad brought his gorgeous personalised rocking chair he got for his birthday so we took some lovely shots of him in that with his nice new boots on.
When we brought the cake out Jacob wasn’t very fussed. He picked at it a bit but was a bit put off by the mess. This can sometimes be the case with cake smashes but we always get a great collection of images regardless! Jacob made up for his lack of cake-mess enthusiasm when we got him in the bath tub. He splashed around in there for ages! He loved the ducks and was making funny faces at Mum and Dad the whole time.
As it had been snowing that morning, I thought it would be a lovely idea to get the family togged up in their woollies and out in a field for some family photos so as Jacob was still in a great mood at the end of the shoot we headed out to the field behind our home studio in Sandbach.
Overall it was a lovely shoot, I especially love the family portraits, they show such strong emotions that are clearly evident within this beautiful family.
