Women Unveiled – Update

Women Unveiled – Update

Wow! I’m blown away by the response to this project – I really am.

I’ve now photographed 6 beautiful women with another due in this week and I’m really really proud of the work and the progress of the project. I’ve been having some mentoring sessions along the way to ensure that I am improving and working towards an end goal of an exhibition or publication of some kind.

The best part about this project though has been to connect with other women. Almost every woman has cried! and I’ve cried a lot too! I just do not understand it! It’s like the floodgates open and emotions, trauma and love pour out. Women have come to me with incredible stories that have really blown me away – I’m so proud to capture a glimpse of these stories through my images.

Stories of peri-menopause; domestic violence, sexual abuse right through to just the simple act of trying to ‘find yourself’ after having children.  Finding that when they start to grow up and get older and more independent you discover that actually you’re a husk of the woman you once were! You have to start all over again from the ground up.

The project is amazing, it’s helping women in ways really unknown – I’ve found them leaving with a smile on their face and with tears in their eyes and the images are one-of-a-kind pieces of art.

The issue I’m finding however is, I’m drained. These sessions are everything to me and I’m pouring my soul into them but I’m finding myself creatively, emotionally and financially drained.

Therefore, I’ve made the decision that for all future sessions, there will have to be a fee of some kind. I need to make sure that the time I’m putting into the shoots is rewarding me financially enough to at least pay my bills. So from now on, each session I will have to ask for £150 but this will include the full-sized digital of your main image plus a stunning 16×12″ fine art print of the same image. Any additional images may be purchased at the same price.

I’m sorry if this is a disappointment to some but I really have to protect myself and my well-being first and it’s going to be either this, or I will have to delay any more shoots for the foreseable!

So, I’m reopening the applications on the understanding that the shoot will now be paid for with a £150 minimum spend to help cover my costs.

Thank you!
