Magical portraits. Festive memories. A moment just for you.

Imagine it’s that time of year again when the fairy lights start to twinkle, the mince pies sneak into the cupboard and the kids are counting down the days. Christmas is full of magic and moments that slip by too quickly, which is why I absolutely love offering these sessions each year.

If you’re looking for a way to slow it all down for a second and capture some of that festive sparkle forever, my Christmas Mini Sessions might just be your new favourite tradition.

A Festive Setup That Feels Like Home

These sessions are short, relaxed and full of heart. In just 45 minutes we’ll capture beautiful portraits that feel natural, joyful and totally you.

This year’s setup is rich and timeless with deep green tones, glowing fairy lights, and hints of red and gold to bring in a little extra Christmas magic. It’s designed to feel festive without being over the top, so your images won’t just live on the fridge in December — they’ll stay up all year if you want them to.

We’ll start with simple, timeless portraits of your children and (if you fancy it) a family shot too. Then we’ll finish off with something a bit more magical — a digital composite that places your child into a dreamy Christmas scene of your choice. Think twinkly, storybook-style magic.

What You Get – £175

Your session includes:

  • 45 minutes in the studio

  • 5 professionally edited digital images with a timeless yet festive feel.

  • 1 bonus digital composite image that is SUPER Christmassy (See examples below eg. campervan and snowglobe etc)

After your session, I’ll carefully choose the 5 very best portraits from your gallery — the ones that truly capture your little ones at their most magical. These will be fully edited and sent to you as high-resolution digital files alongside your digital composite image for you to keep, print and share as much as you like.

I like to keep things simple and relaxed, so there’s no need to shortlist or choose — I’ll take that pressure off your plate and make sure you receive a set of photos you’ll absolutely love.

Want a Bit More?

You can keep things simple or go all in with a couple of extras if you’d like:

  • Add 5 more digital images (10 in total) including a family portrait – £75 (As my main setup is dark, I’m planning to offer a ‘white’ setup as an option on the day when upgrading)
  • Extra digital composite images – £25 each

These can be added on the day if you decide you’d like a bit more magic in your gallery.

When Are They Happening?

I’ve opened up four dates this year and once they’re gone, they’re gone:

  • Friday 7th November
  • Saturday 8th November
  • Sunday 9th November
  • Saturday 15th November
  • Sunday 16th November

Spaces are very limited and I can only offer a small number of sessions each day to keep things calm and enjoyable for everyone.

If this is something you’ve been thinking about, I really recommend getting booked in as soon as you can.

What Should You Wear?

I’ll send you a full prep guide once you’re booked in, but here’s the short version.

Go for colours that complement the setup — deep green, rust, cream, burgundy or neutrals all work beautifully. Keep it simple and classic so your images feel timeless.
Avoid bold patterns, neon or anything with logos that might distract from your little faces.

Chunky knits, linen shirts, layered textures, smart trousers or soft dresses all look lovely. Try to coordinate outfits without matching completely — that relaxed, effortless look works best on camera.

And for the composite image, feel free to go all out — think Christmas pyjamas, wool coats, hats and scarves. I’m here for it.

What Else Should You Bring?

Just a few little things can help everything go smoothly:

  • Water and small snacks for the kids (avoid anything too colourful or messy)
  • A comfort toy if it helps them settle
  • Spare shoes or slippers for inside the studio
  • A hairbrush or wipes for any last minute touch ups

If you have a baby under one, don’t worry about outfits — I’ve got some beautiful pieces in the studio ready to go.

What If Things Go Sideways?

Honestly, it’s totally normal. Kids have off days. New places can feel strange and sometimes things just don’t go to plan.

I always work gently, with patience and a sense of humour, to make the experience relaxed and fun. But if it’s really not happening, that’s okay. We can always reschedule on a quieter day or pop back after a nap or snack. No stress at all.

Where Do You Go?

My studio is based at my home in Wheelock. Full address details will be sent after booking, but if you’re visiting for the first time, look for the detached house with the brown fence and bay window. The studio is through the double gates round the back — just come straight in.

These sessions mean so much to me each year. Seeing your little ones grow, helping you create something special, and being a small part of your family traditions is honestly one of the best parts of my job.

Why You Won’t See the Set Until You Arrive

If you’re wondering why I haven’t shared a full preview of this year’s setup, it’s because I like to keep it a little secret until you walk through the studio doors. There’s something really special about the moment you see it for the first time — it adds to the magic and helps create a genuine sense of wonder, especially for the children.

It also means I can protect the originality of my work. Every year I design the set myself and pour so much love and thought into creating something unique, timeless and totally in line with the Little Primrose style. By keeping it under wraps, I can make sure the setup stays special for you and true to my creative vision.

Rest assured, it will be warm, elegant and festive — with that classic, rich colour palette and a cosy Christmas glow that never goes out of style. I promise it’ll be worth the wait.

Here’s some examples of sets from previous years to put your mind at ease that it will be stunning!
